The Holy Martyr Trifun (Tryphon) is a saint of both the Roman Catholic and Orthodox Churches. Known as the saint guardian of wine and wine growers.

On St. Trifun's day (14th of Feb) people visit their vineyards and symbolically cut one piece of it and pour vine over the scarified part. It is believed that this custom will bring prosperity and much fruits of the next grape harvest.
